Every time I see a play, I listen to the dialogue but my eyes always wander. Its’s not because the actors have lost my attention but because the setting has always been more interesting to me. Each little item adds detail and insight into character development, lifestyle, and social standing. Every prop no matter how small or seemingly insignificant is important to the narrative. Most people see a play as a whole, but I see it as the sum of many parts. What would Mary Poppins be without her Magic Carpetbag? I truly believe it is the props that make a production come to life. Being part of the magic is what inspires my work and dedication.
